Watershed School’s mission is to spark adventure and wonder, foster inquiry and community, and build the character and ability of students to take on the world’s greatest challenges.

Watershed is a small 6-12 independent school in Boulder, Colorado with a progressive educational model that is research-based, future-focused, and community-engaged. We know that students learn best when engaged in learning not just about the world, but in the world and for the world. Project-based and inquiry-driven, Watershed works with students to become curious learners, adventurous spirits, and caring, committed global citizens as they engage in work that matters—work that has an impact beyond the walls of the school. Research-based and future-focused, our curriculum prepares students for success in college and beyond, developing the skills and habits students need to take on the world’s greatest challenges.

Watershed seeks to expand the purpose of independent schools – being a school that serves its students well and also has a real, positive impact within the broader community – working with community partners to build a future that is more just and more sustainable.
